Halloween fans of every age will find something to love at Riverside’s Renner Brenner Park on Saturday, Oct. 17 when Carved returns for one night only.
The Carved Experience runs from 5:30-10:30 p.m. at 2901 Vivion Road, and blends haunted attractions, live entertainment and family-friendly activities along the park’s Jumping Branch Trail.
The City of Riverside kicks off the night with a free trunk or treat from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Kids can show off their costumes and collect candy from decorated trunks. Families can also grab dinner from food trucks and catch live performances from fire performers, a magician and a sideshow performer.
The night’s main attraction opens after sunset – a half-mile haunted trail winding through field and forest, packed with scares. Organizers cap sales at 1,000 tickets and expect them to sell out, so guests are encouraged to buy early. Haunted trail tickets cost $20 and fortune teller readings cost $15. Organizers do not recommend the haunted trail for children under 13, and a guardian must accompany and child under that age.
“We truly put on a unique Halloween experience with fun for all ages,” said Riverside Mayor Kathy Rose. “We start the night with a trunk or treat that draws large crowds, and we even hand out prizes. From there, Carved keeps the scary, spooky fun going with activities for everyone. The only question left is whether you’re brave enough for the haunted trail.”
Carved stays open in the rain but will close if lightning or severe weather moves into the area.
A portion of Carved’s proceeds support Build Trybe, a program of Cornerstones of Care that empowers youth through skills training and mentorship.
