Questions abound in case of three men found dead

There are more questions than answers in the case of three men found dead at a house in the Coves subdivision off Barry Road in Platte County last week.

At around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, a woman went to the home looking for her fiance, according to the Kansas City Police Department. No one answered the door so she broke into the home through the basement and discovered a body on the back porch. The woman called police, who discovered two more bodies in the back yard. The back yard is enclosed by a wooden privacy fence that borders Barry Road.

There were no initial signs of foul play, police said.

The men were identified as 38-year-old Ricky Johnson, 37-year-old David Harrington and 36-year-old Clayton McGeeney. All had been missing since the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday, Jan. 7.

Later last week, Kansas City police opened a suspicious death investigation in the case, but no other details are available. The investigation has turned to the medical examiner's office as they try to determine the cause of death for all three men.

A Facebook page, titled We Want Justice/Northland, has been created with members posting various theories in the case. According to social media, the occupant of the home was there when the woman broke into the house and discovered the bodies.

Several GoFundMe sites have been established to help cover funeral and living expenses for the families of the men.
