The ribbon was cut last week for the newest medical provider in Platte City – Guthrie Chiropractic.
Dr. Dylan Guthrie and Dr. Taylor Binkley opened the new practice in late 2024 at 1110 Branch Street, Platte City. Last week, the doctors welcomed the Platte City Area Chamber and members of the community to visit their new home.
For both doctors, Platte City is just up the road from where they started out. Guthrie and Binkley are both graduates of West Platte High School.
Guthrie graduated from West Platte in 2013 before going on to earn his doctorate in chiropractic in 2020. Him, his wife Kelsey and their daughter Parker now live in Liberty, but still have roots in the Platte City and Weston areas. Guthrie attended UCM for his undergraduate where he studied athletic training. While there he got to experience the exercise and rehabilitation side of patient care that he continues to incorporate into his Chiropractic care today.
He graduated from Cleveland University-Kansas City in Overland Park, Kan., earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in December 2020. He has been practicing around the Kansas City and Platte City areas since 2021.
When he’s not treating patients, Guthrie enjoys spending time at home with his family. He also enjoys playing golf, spending time with family and cheering on the Chiefs.
Binkley is originally from Weston. After graduation from high school, she attended Northwest Missouri State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry with an emphasis in medicinal chemistry. It was at NWMSU that she began personal training and teaching fitness classes that she developed an interest in how the human body moves and functions. This interest pushed her toward exploring different holistic methods that support the body’s natural healing and movement patterns.
Through her education at Cleveland University-Kansas City, she connected with a specific population of patients. Because of this, she became a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and pursued her Webster certification to better care for women during their prenatal and postnatal journeys. She is working toward further prenatal, postnatal and pediatric certifications through the ICPA.
Guthrie said the clinic offers standard diversified chiropractic care, including Thompson drop tables, activator, MPI and some forms of dry needling – a form of acupuncture.

Guthrie said the clinic is working on acquiring an x-ray machine and hoping to be able to offer DOT physicals in the near future.
“We’re trying to branch out and offer as much as we can for the Platte City area,” Guthrie said.
Currently, the climic is offering sports physicals and custom orthotics – specially designed shoe inserts based from a 3D scan taken of the patient’s feet.
For Guthrie, working with patients to improve their health and doing it close to home is a special feeling. Having spent a lot of time in Platte City growing up, he wanted to return to the community after working in Kansas City.
“I wanted to work my way back to Platte City, but it just happened a lot faster than I anticipated,” he said, of the opening of the new clinic.
He said he had a lot of patients follow him to the new clinic from his old practice and has received great support from the business community in Platte City as well.
“Being able to help patients with chronic pain – it’s great to help someone and see them make progress toward being more healthy.”
