The Neighbors First Coalition, comprised of four independent candidates seeking local office in Platte County, has officially qualified for the Nov. 3 general election ballot after submitting approximately 1,200 signatures per candidate 10 days before Missouri’s filing deadline.
On Friday, July 24, each candidate – Dale Brouk, commissioner, Holly Cayer, collector, Chris Kendall, treasurer and Kevin Robinson, auditor – received official certification after submitting significantly more petition signatures than required under Missouri law. Collectively, the candidates gathered approximately 1,200 signatures each from voters across Platte County with broad bipartisan support, securing their places on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
According to the release issued last week by the Neighbors First Coalition, the overwhelming response during the petition process reflects growing support among Republicans, Democrats and independents for local leadership that places neighbors before political parties.
Rather than relying primarily on campaign advertising or social media, coalition members spent weeks meeting residents where they live, work, worship and gather, listening to concerns, answering questions, and discussing the issues that matter most to Platte County families, according to the release.
The petition effort demonstrated that many voters are looking for elected officials who emphasize accountability, transparency, fiscal responsibility and practical solutions over partisan conflict.
Together, they are committed to independent leadership, respectful dialogue, responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources, and collaborative solutions to the challenges facing Platte County.
As the campaign moves toward the November election, the Neighbors First Coalition invites voters to consider a different approach to local government – one rooted in community, collaboration, accountability and independent leadership.
