The Platte County Health Department has announced the members of its staff who received awards for excellence during the 2025 Missouri Public Health Association (MPHA) Conference.
Deputy Director Taylor Harris, MPH, MSc, was awarded the Missouri Public Health Association Mentorship award for her leadership and advocacy. Harris has strengthened public health in Missouri through her dedication to accreditation, community collaboration, and continuous quality improvement.
Her efforts have led to meaningful initiatives that reflect the true needs of the communities she serves. She has guided countless students and professionals, empowering them with knowledge, encouragement, and opportunities for growth.
Her mentorship is intentional and deeply impactful, fostering both confidence and competence in those around her.
WIC Registered Dietitian Lisa Dandridge, RDLD, received the MPHA Special award for her betterment of local public health in Missouri. Her extensive knowledge base, especially in the areas of nutrition and breastfeeding support, reflects years of experience, continuous learning, and collaboration.
She is known for being a steady, supportive presence, someone who leads by example and inspires those around her.
Environmental Public Health Specialist Rachel Simpson was awarded the prestigious Edna Dell Weinel Scholarship through the Missouri Public Health Association Education Foundation. The scholarship will assist in her pursuit of a Master of Public Health degree.
