Interstate 29 near Camden Point was closed for several hours Sunday due to a fatality roll-over accident in the northbound lanes.
The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at mile marker 27 at the rest area. Although the names of victims had not been released as of press time, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported a 39-year-old St. Joseph woman died in the crash. A 52-year-old St. Joseph man and a 15-year-old from Hopkins, Mo. were also injured in the crash.
The 52-year-old man was driving a 1980 Chevrolet van when he approached a slow-moving vehicle and over-corrected, entering the median and rolling over. The van came to rest in the northbound lanes. None of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
