Park hill teacher charged with assault

A Park Hill School District teacher has been arrested, charged with three counts of fourth-degree assault for alleged inappropriate interactions with middle school students.

Isaiah Christopher Washington, 39, was charged last week in Platte County and was taken into custody. Washington has already bonded out on $7,500 cash-only bond.

According to court documents, between 2023 and 2025, Washington, engaged in acts to purposely cause emotional distress in several victims. He did so while employed as a physical education teacher.

In May 2025, the Platte County Sheriff’s Office was notified by school officials that they had received reports from many middle school students about concerning behavior and comments from Washington. Seven victims were identified, all of which heard comments from Washington such as, “That outfit makes your body look really good...”, “I would if I could, but that would be illegal”, “I love you”, “Honey”, “If I could take you home, I would.”, “You guys look pretty today, especially in those leggings...”, “You’re just a hot young girl and they’re just mad cause they’re not...”, “Oooh girl you look good and tight...”, “I really like how that shirt looks good on you...”, and “scoop you up.”

One victim told police Washington expressed undue interest in her dating life and asked her daily about her relationship with a boy her age. This occurred when she was in seventh grade. In eighth grade, the victim said unwanted attention from Washington continued, including his commentary that her “body looked good” in a particular outfit.

Another victim told police Washington asked for hugs. “I just kind of didn’t know what to do, I felt, like, trapped, and so I hugged him,” she told police. “He never touched me in like, inappropriate ways, but like he would like always find a way to touch me. Whenever we were standing next to each other, he would just like, touch my arm. Like when I was sitting down he would come touch my shoulders or I feel just find any way to like, touch me...” She told police she always accommodated his requests for hugs because he was a teacher and she was afraid he “may not have been nice” the next time she was in his class.

Sometimes, Washington was visibly aroused after hugs, the victim said, with other students noticing the situation as well.

Another victim told police she, too, received unwanted hugs from Washington and noticing he became aroused. Other students told her Washington was staring at her butt as she walked away from him. Once, he told her to put his phone number into his phone, then said he was just joking.

Yet another victim hugged Washington once and said it “creeped” her out. “It kind of got uncomfortable... We don’t usually hug our teachers anyway,” the victim told police. “We all thought it was getting weird.” Washington often talked about his own relationships with her and her friends and sought their opinions and advice which made them feel uncomfortable.

Another victim also reported Washington tried to give her his phone number, allegedly stating “One day, you should just let me slide my digits into your phone...” This victim also received unwanted hugs and noticed Washington would become aroused.

Another victim was asked to “get down and say please” to get gummy bears from Washington, and he also told her that if he were her age he would date her.
