Park Hill tennis off to hot start

The Park Hill boys tennis team has started the 2025 season hot after winning the St. Joseph Tournament and defeating Blue Springs South in the first dual of the year.

The Trojans started the season on March 26 at the Platte County Invitational. They ended the day with 19 points, three shy of first-place St. Joseph Central, who won their third consecutive championship in the Platte County Invitational.

The Trojans were led by junior Andrew Miller, who earned a first-place medal in singles. Park Hill also got second-place contributions from Brian Lisec, Bond Pasley and Jairpret Singh while Franco Timotei finished third. Timotei and Will Poole took first in doubles while Singh and Lisec teamed up for a second-place finish in doubles.

On April 2, Park Hill traveled north to win the St. Joseph Central Tournament, edging out Park Hill South and Blue Springs South by a point for a first-place finish with 21 points.

Miller and Carter Lovitt both won first place in A flight. The trio of Franco Timotei, Will Poole and Bond Pasley all finished third in B flight while Cody Phan and Jaipreet Singh were second in C flight.

The Trojans followed Thursday's tournament title with their first dual victory of the year, defeating Blue Spring South 6-3 on Friday in Blue Springs.

The group of Miller, Lovitt, Timotei and Will Poole all earned wins in singles. Miller's victory was the closest of the dual, earning an 8-6 triumph against returning state qualifier Judson McIntosh.

The partners of Miller and Carter as well as Timotei and Poole earned victories in doubles.

Park Hill will be busy this week with action on home court Monday through Thursday. They welcome Oak Park and Lee's Summit West on Monday and Tuesday before hosting a doubles tournament on Wednesday and Rockhurst on Thursday.
