The Park Hill football team was without head coach Andy Sims for personnel reasons in its senior night defeat to North Kansas City, a district spokesperson confirmed to The Citizen.
Park Hill School District chief communications officer Kelly Wachel said the district is “working through a personnel matter with Coach Sims and he will not be coaching as we’re working through it.”
Park Hill High School principal Dr. Brad Kincheloe met with the team on the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 5, to notify them and informed the team’s families via email prior to the game that evening.
In Sims’ absence, assistant coach Greg Reynolds handled duties standing in as head coach in the Trojans’ defeat to North Kansas City on Sept. 5. Sims did coach the Trojans to a season-opening victory away to Rock Bridge the week prior on Aug. 29.
Park Hill sits with a 1-1 win-loss record and will visit Staley on Sept. 12.
