Bids open for county road work projects

The Platte County Clerk last week opened bids from contractors interested in the county’s annual resurfacing program this year.

According to director of public works Bob Heim, bids came in at a reasonable rate, allowing the county to make the most of its money. Bids were forwarded to public works staff for review and will be awarded later this spring.

Roadways on the list for asphalt overlay include all streets within The Masters subdivision near Parkville, including Northwest 81st Street, Breckenridge, Elizabeth Ann Court, Emerald Court, Green Glades, King’s Ridge, Mastern Drive, Masters Lane and Mesa. Other roadways planned for asphalt overlay are Lanter Lane, Masonic Drive, Moore Road and Second Creek Road.

Roadways to be micro-surfaced are Northwest 136th Street, Elliott, Fore Court, Lakewood, Langley, Little Platte Road (West of Highway B), Martin Road (West of Highway C) and North American Avenue.
