Kids took advantage of a snow day home from school Monday and went sledding down the hill by the Platte City Civic Center, located off Branch Street, between Second and Third streets. Winter Storm Bruce dumped more than 5 inches of snow on the area on Sunday night and led to school cancellations on both Monday and Tuesday.
