West Platte matched its win total from the regular season last year in Week 2 with a 44-7 win against Wellington-Napoleon on Friday night at Rudolph Eskridge Stadium in Weston, Mo.After going 2-7 in the regular season a year ago, the 2-0 start is a vast improvement in under second-year coach Nate Danneman. Bluejays senior quarterback Cody Guthrie finished with five total touchdowns in Week 2 — three rushing, one passing and one special teams on a 77-yard kickoff return. Dallas Reynolds added a 4-yard rushing score for West Platte, and Kyle Tabaka took one in from 76 yards out. West Platte travels to East Buchanan this week, a matchup the Bluejays lost 48-45 a year ago in a continuation of a tight series in recent years.
