The Platte County Sheriff’s Department and Metro Squad continue to investigate a homicide believed to have occurred this past weekend in Kansas City, Mo. Francisco Javier Vargas III

Authorities were alerted on Saturday, Nov. 1 to the body of Francisco Javier Vargas III, found at his residence in the 6600 block of NW Twin Springs Road — located near the junction of Highways 9 and 45 just north of Parkville.

According to Erik Holland of the Platte County Sheriff’s Department, Vargas was shot multiple times, and authorities believe the crime occurred on the same day. Holland didn’t know who else, if anyone, lived at the residence with Vargas.

Holland said the investigation continues but could not comment on suspects or persons of interest in the case at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
