Platte County Auditor Kevin Robinson announced he filed on Tuesday, Feb. 24, for reelection to continue providing professional, accountable and transparent financial oversight for the citizens of Platte County.
Robinson, who has served as county auditor since taking office in 2011, emphasized the importance of experienced, steady financial stewardship as the county prepares for several significant milestones. These include continued attention to the county’s credit rating; long-term forecasting associated with the sunset of the law enforcement sales tax, and planned upgrades to public safety radio infrastructure.
“It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Platte County,” Robinson said. “Since first being elected, I have worked to strengthen the County’s financial reporting, modernize internal processes, and support departments in meeting statutory requirements and operational goals. I am grateful for the trust citizens have placed in me, and I remain committed to serving with professionalism, independence, and focus on facts rather than rhetoric.”
Robinson noted the importance of maintaining independent financial review as the County evaluates any future criminal justice or facility initiatives.
“As Platte County considers potential future jail facility planning, it is essential that the public has clear, accurate, and independent evaluation of financial information,” Robinson said. “Sound financial decisions require transparency, data, and disciplined analysis. My office plays a critical role in reviewing long-term obligations, evaluating project impacts, and ensuring citizens understand what these initiatives mean for the County’s future.”
He also highlighted the need for forward-looking financial preparation as the law enforcement sales tax approaches its scheduled sunset.
“With the sunset of the law enforcement tax on the horizon, responsible multi-year forecasting is crucial,” Robinson said. “Sustainable public safety funding requires planning, collaboration, and honest financial modeling. My experience in long-term financial planning will help ensure the County makes informed decisions that preserve both effective public safety services and overall financial stability.”
Robinson reaffirmed his commitment to professionalism, transparency, and service to the public.
“I am proud of the work the Auditor’s Office has accomplished and the safeguards we have strengthened, and I am equally focused on the work ahead,” Robinson said. “Public service requires accountability, respect for processes, and a willingness to stand firm in protecting taxpayer resources. When reelected, I will continue to uphold the highest standards in safeguarding taxpayer dollars and supporting Platte County’s long-term financial health.”
