The Platte County archery team brought home a state championship team and a state championship shooter from the MoNASP State Tournament.
The competition held at the Branson Convention Center on March 23-24 saw Compass Elementary have the best score in the 3D tournament, while student Porter Campbell won the elementary boys title with a score of 276.

Platte County’s Compass Elementary won the MoNASP 3D Tournament archery state championship this past weekend in Branson. The team also had the individual champion in the event as Porter Campbell had the highest score in the boys division.
All told, Compass had five shooters in the top 10 in the standings and the team scored 1,552 with 54 10-point shots.
In other team standings, Compass was seventh and Siegrist Elementary was 12th in the bullseye tournament. Platte City Middle School was 19th and Barry School was 33rd in the bullseye.
In the 3D tournament, Platte County High School was 17th, while Platte County Middle School was 9th with a score of 1,572. Barry was 20th.
The team will next compete in the national tournament May 10-12 in Louisville, Ky.
