Lady Panthers kick way to top of Silver Division

Park Hill South junior Olivia Clemons was the Kansas City Suburban Conference Girls’ Soccer Player of the Year this season.

The Park Hill and Park Hill South girls’ soccer teams had some positive moments this past season before falling to the eventual Class 4 State Champs, with players from both squads being recognized for said accomplishments.

Being in the same conference and district, Park Hill (7-13) and Park Hill South (14-8) were both eliminated by Liberty North, who ran the table and ended the year with a perfect 22-0 record and a state title. The Lady Panthers finished with a 6-4 record in the Silver Division of the Kansas City Suburban Conference as the Lady Trojans had three wins in 10 tries.

Park Hill South was reliant on junior Olivia Clemons all season long as she was the Silver Division Offensive Player of the Year after being responsible for more than half of her team’s 40 total goals this past spring. The forward had 17 goals and four assists, earning her spots on the first team in the Silver Division and the Class 4 District 8 Tournament.

Lilly Reuscher was the only Lady Panther that joined Clemons on the first team of both. The junior midfielder ended the year with three goals and two assists.

Mackenzie Wright joined the junior duo as a first team all-district selection, while being a second-team all-conference player. She posted one goal and two assists on the season.

Mya Quarles was a Silver Division Honorable Mention and Class 4 District 8 Second Team selection. The defender had one assist in her junior campaign.

Freshman defender Savanna Pittman and junior defender Lauren Dittmer were both second team selections in the Class 4 District 8 Tournament. Pittman had a promising freshman campaign, also being on the second team in the conference while Dittmer was a Silver Division Honorable Mention.

Susi Schulze had the second-most goals for Park Hill South in 2023, collecting a pair of honorable mentions in the process. The Lady Panther forward ended her career with six goals and six assists in her senior campaign.

Junior midfielder Grace Leak and freshman midfielder Sarah Listrom were all-district honorable mentions. Anna Bolger was snubbed of any postseason awards despite posting four goals – which was the third most on the team – and one assist.

As for Park Hill, there were no first-team selection in the Silver Division, but its senior duo of Allison Estanich and Ella Nelson made the first-team all-district. Estanich was a second-team all-conference player and Nelson was a Silver Division Honorable Mention. 

Junior midfielder Paige Barry was a Class 4 District 8 Second Team selection and a Silver Division Honorable Mention. 

Lady Trojan sophomore midfielder Lydia Keller impressed in the conference and the district, claiming an honorable mention in both. Park Hill sophomore defender Emily Woelk was a second-team all-district and all-conference honorable mention, while Katie Baak ended her senior campaign as a Class 4 District 8 Honorable Mention and Silver Division Second Team selection.
