No leads yet in last week's homicide reported in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Mo. — Two men have been questioned in regards to a homicide in Riverside, Mo. Police interviewed Jordan Wilson and Leandre “Dre” Boyd for information they might have concerning the homicide.

On Tuesday, Jan. 3, the Riverside Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 1:40 p.m. on the 5100 Block of Northwest Karen Boulevard. When officers arrived on the scene they found a deceased black male identified as 20-year-old Davon Rivera-Wright. 

Initial witness reports indicated that a suspect may have run into a nearby wooded area. Riverside and Kansas City, Mo. K-9 units were dispatched to set up a perimeter around the crime scene to search for the potential suspect. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Northmoor Police Department also assisted with the incident. 

Further investigation revealed that the individual that ran from the scene was possibly a witness to the shooting. 

Wright was found near the Northcrest Apartments located just south of Interstate 29 on Northwest Gateway Avenue.

More than a dozen detectives from the Kansas City Metro area are currently investigating the homicide. Detectives are in need of information from any source to bring the incident to a safe resolution for everyone involved. 

On Friday, Jan. 6, the Riverside Police Department sent a press release asking for assistance in locating two persons of interest in the ongoing investigation. 

Detectives were able to locate and interview both persons of interest. No arrests have been made.
