Platte City Community Band set to host anniversary concert

The Platte City Community Band will host its 10th anniversary concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 inside the Wilson Center for the Performing Arts at Platte County High School.

The Platte City Community Band will be holding its 10 anniversary concert and reception starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 inside the Wilson Center for Performing Arts at Platte County High School.

“Kindred Spirit” will serve as the guest vocalists for the event, while Platte City mayor Frank Offutt will participate in the concert program as a narrator on one of the pieces. During a brief intermission, the Platte City Friends of the Arts visual arts committee will present an art show.

Following the concert, Friends of the Arts will serve celebration cake to the concert attendees and band members. There will be a 10-year history display of the band’s performances. 

Platte City Community Band members volunteer their time to provide free admission for their concerts for the community’s enjoyment. Platte City Friends of the Arts is the proud sponsor of the Platte City Community Band.
