Raytown man injured when car strikes tree in Platte County

A Raytown man suffered injuries when his vehicle went off Interstate 29 and struck a tree, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

At 5:39 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, Lloyd R. Anderson, 42, was driving southbound on I-29 at mile marker 23.4 when his 2004 Pontiac traveled off the roadway in inclement weather and struck a tree.

Anderson wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries. He was transported to North Kansas City Hospital.

One hurt in accident

A Kansas City, Kan., resident was injured in a one-vehicle wreck on Monday, April 29 in Platte County.

Ruby M. Morlan, 72, was driving her 2009 Chevrolet HHR northbound on I-29 when the accident occurred near Highway 92 at 3:38 p.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Morlan lost control of her vehicle, ran off the right side of roadway and then struck a guardrail.

She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries. She was transported to North Kansas City Hospital.

Parkville teenager hurt

Two teenagers were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday, April 21 in Clay County.

Suleka B. Adbulahi, 20, of Kansas City, was going northbound on Interstate 29, south of N. Oak Trafficway when she slowed in the left lane.

Her 2009 Hyundai Elantra was struck in the rear by a 2015 Nissan Versa driven by Sabian M. Steele, 19, of Platte Woods.

Two of Steele’s passengers were injured the accident. Lillian K. Alvelo, 16, of Parkville, and Reagan C. Stock, 19, of Kansas City, both sustained minor injuries and were transported to North Kansas Hospital.

 Two injured in rollover accident

A rollover accident last week injured two Kansas City residents.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an accident occurred on Highway 9, north of Coffey Road at 6:21 a.m. on April 19.

The report stated that a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Denita J. Heavner, 55, was traveling northbound when she crossed the center line and struck a 2011 Ford F-650 truck driven by Anthony R. White, 53, of Kansas City.

After the impact, White's truck traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail before overturning.

White sustained minor injuries, while Heavner, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital.

MSHP Arrests

RJ Scott, 28, of Kansas City, Mo., was arrested on two warrants (Clay County and Independence) on April 19.

Matthew R. Williams, 28, of Kansas City, Mo., was arrested on April 18 for driving while intoxicated, speeding and driving without insurance.

Shawn A. Daniels, 46, of Mountain View, Mo., was arrested on a felony warrant from Howell County on April 18.

Bryanna N. Keever, 24, of Gladstone, was arrested on April 27 for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive within a single lane and driving without insurance.

Kimberly A. Crockett, 23, of Kansas City, Mo., was arrested on April 28 for driving while intoxicated-prior offender, speeding 26 miles per hour or more, failure to drive within three lanes and driving while suspended.

Thomas A. Barnard, 59, of Kansas City, Mo., was arrested for driving while intoxicated on April 27.
