Sex charges filed against man for incident in Weatherby Lake

Court documents allege a Kansas City man made inappropriate sexual contact with his 5-year-old niece.

On Monday, July 3, members of the Weatherby Lake Police Department responded to Children’s Mercy Hospital on a report of a young girl being treated for sexual assault. She identified the suspect as her uncle Nick Goss, 28.

Two days later, investigators with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office contacted Goss for a statement.

Goss claimed he was in his room masturbating wearing just a shirt while sitting on a bed when the girl came in the room. He alleged she asked questions about what he was doing and he allegedly provided graphically explicit answers.

According to court documents, Goss was curious about what a small girl’s vagina looked like and touched her. He also continued to masturbate with the girl present.

Goss also said he had masturbated in front of the girl multiple times but claimed this was the first time the two made physical contact.

According to court documents, Goss denied the girl made physical sexual contact with him. He remains in custody at the Platte County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond after being charged with felony count each of statutory sodomy and enticement of a child.
