Fourth Street improvements on way in Platte City

It took more than two decades and a new property owner, but the City of Platte City is finally getting to improve a portion of the City east of Fourth Street by constructing a concrete-lined ditch to mitigate erosion. “We’re going to complete one area where the City has been trying to clean up for over 20 years,” Alderman John Higgins said. “There was a change of ownership, and the new owner is more than happy to get the improvements.”

Since 1987, the City has been trying to get easements to add a 130-foot concrete-lined ditch to prevent erosion along Fourth Street, between 1307 Fourth Street and 2 Clark.
