Ferrelview addresses water valve problem, mobile homes demolition

January 19, 2012 Citizen Staff Report
Citizen-logo-for-default-featured.jpg

Ferrelview will need a few water valves repaired in 2012 to make sure repairs can be made when needed without cutting the entire Village’s water supply off in the process.

The Village estimates that six valves need replacement after an e-mail from Chief Water Operator Mickey Vulgamott was presented by Water Commissioner Greg Wilson showing which valves controlled which portions of the Village.

Currently, the Village estimates the cost of the valves to run approximately $12,000. The Village will be preparing to accept bids at a future date, according to Trustee Chairman Gary McCaslin. The money for the valves is already accounted for in the water rates, which were increased last year to $6.77 per 1,000 gallons. The issue is set to be discussed further at the February trustee meeting.
