A man is facing multiple charges, including human trafficking, after his alleged victim managed to escape from his grip at a KCI Airport-area hotel in September.
Wilson
Jacquan Wilson was arrested in late September after his partner created a fake email with AI stating she had to return a rental car. She and her one-year-old child left the hotel and met police, her mother and sister at the rental car location at the airport.
Seven charges have been filed against Wilson so far, including trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation, promoting prostitution, armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child and domestic assault charges. Wilson was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, Dec. 16 for a hearing.
According to court documents, on Sept. 26 officers met the victim, who said her boyfriend, Wilson, had assaulted her multiple times during the week with his fists. He had strangled her several times, making her lose consciousness, threw her to the ground and kicked her. Wilson had allegedly once threatened to chop off her fingers and had thrown her into various furniture, as well as throwing furniture at her. He had also Facetimed her showing himself holding a knife to her sleeping child’s throat, threatening her that he would “kill everything she loved” if she did not return home to the hotel room.
The victim reported she had met Wilson a couple of months ago and they started dating. Wilson is allegedly a sex worker and got her involved in the business and the couple moved to Kansas City with her son. He had her meet with multiple clients for sex over the course of three weeks, then became angry and violent when she no longer wanted to have sex with him.
Wilson was taken into custody and said he was willing to make a statement, then reversed course and asked for an attorney. He is also connected to a homicide investigation in Salt Lake City, Utah.
