Platte County Pirates’ Head Football Coach Bill Utz has been named the Missouri High School Football Coaches Association’s Class 5 Coach of the Year after leading his team to the Class 5 championship and an undefeated 14-0 record.
Utz had previously led the Pirates to the state championship game in back-to-back years in 2019-20 but fell short.
In five 2024 post-season games the Pirates outscored opponets 223-67 including two shutouts versus St. Joseph Central 50-0 and Webb City on the road 35-0.
