West Platte's Tharp advances Class 1 finals

The Bluejays heavyweight posted a pin in 1 minute, 25 seconds against Plattsburg’s Trevor Rush in the third-place match. In the quarterfinals, Rush pinned Tharp with six seconds left in the third period.

Four of Tharp’s five wins came from pins. He started with a pin against Stanberry’s Austin Colvin in 2:37 in the first match. In the consolation portion of the bracket, he started with a pin in 1 minute against Ashton Yeary of East Atchison. Tharp then stuck Gallatin’s Dyson Fry in 54 seconds.
