Park Hill South junior Addison Bjorn was named a DiRenna Award winner for the first time in her career on Thursday, April 10.
Bjorn was named the co-winner of the award as the best girls high school basketball player in the Kansas City area alongside Jaliya Davis of Blue Valley North.
She averaged 21.9 points and 11.62 rebounds per game. The junior was an All-Conference, All-District and Class 6 Player of the Year in addition to being named Missouri’s Girls Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year and numerous other accolades.
Bjorn helped Park Hill South to a 28-1 win-loss record as they went on a 28-game winning streak before losing to Staley in the district championship last month. The Panthers also completed an undefeated regular season schedule, going 26-0 for the first time ever with victories against teams from Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-2 star most recently returned from USA Women's Junior National Team Minicamp from April 4-6 in Tampa, Florida. Bjorn was one of 45 athletes selected to participate, which was held in conjunction with the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four.
As Park Hill South’s all-time leading scorer, Bjorn has one year of eligibility left and is less than 400 points shy of the 2,000-point milestone across her career.
