Park Hill beats Oak Park, falls to LSN

Despite a late goal in regulation, Park Hill dropped a Suburban Conference Gold Division game, 2-1, to Lee’s Summit North in penalty kicks at home on Monday, Oct. 15.

Aaron Simpson, a senior, scored the lone goal for the Trojans off a free kick in the 77th minute. In the penalty kick portion of the event after overtime, the Broncos won 4-2 in a makeup of a game originally scheduled for Oct. 9. Jack Austin and Andrew Hrisak had PK goals for the Trojans.

Park Hill fell to 8-9 overall and saw a four-game winning streak end.

Oak Park 3, Platte County 0

The Pirates fell to the Northmen on Monday, Oct. 15 in a non-division conference showdown. It was the second straight shutout against the Pirates, now 9-9 overall.

Smithville 2, Platte County 0

The Warriors swept the season series against the Pirates with a shutout on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Suburban Conference Blue Division game.

Josh Grandstaff and Nate Saunders had the goals for Smithville.

Park Hill 5, Oak Park 1

The Trojans picked up a victory over the Northmen on Thursday, Oct. 11 behind a pair of goals from Jack Austin.

Nez Redi added a goal on a header on a pass from Aaron Simpson. Ethan Fiest added a goal off a corner kick, while Matt Lachowitzer added a marker on a pass from Chris Munoz.

Platte County 7, Winnetonka 0

Logan Bannister recorded a hat trick for the Pirates in a win against the Griffins on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the North Kansas City District Activities Center.

Bannister had his first two goals in the first half to make it 2-0 and his third came in the 44th minute.

Carter Hays scored in the 60th minute to make it 4-0.

Gabe Washington (79th minute), Avery Hogan (73rd) and Colton Grisham (79th) added markers for the Pirates, while Logan Allen had the lone assist.

Jackson Huey and Ian Lang combined on the shutout in goal for the Pirates.

Park Hill South 4, Truman 1

The Panthers posted a win in Suburban Conference Red Division play thanks to a hat trick from Carson Lindsey.

The senior forward scored three goals in the first half, all coming in the final two minutes of the first half.

Up 1-0 on a goal from Evan Oathout — with an assist going to Chris Brock — the Panthers got goals from Lindsey in the 38th minute and twice in the 40th minute.

Austin Gates accounted assists on the first two, while Isaac Henn had an assist on the final goal by Lindsey.

Korby Ring also scored in the 40th minute for Truman, making it 4-1 at the break.

The Panthers (14-2) scored on four of their eight shots in the first half.

Platte County 2, Grandview 1

Tanner Ride and Blake Cochran each scored a goal and Ethan Dolan provided an assist in a Suburban Conference Blue Division win on Monday, Oct. 8 in Platte City.

Looking ahead

Park Hill will close the regular season with four road games, starting today (Oct. 17) at Blue Springs. On Saturday, Oct. 20 they will play at Lee’s Summit North, before a trip to Lee’s Summit West on Monday, Oct. 22 and a regular season finale at Park Hill South on Thursday, October 24.

The Panthers, in addition to hosting Park Hill on the Oct. 24, will host Liberty North on Thursday, Oct. 18 and then Lee’s Summit on Monday, Oct. 22.

Platte County hosted Raytown South on Tuesday, Oct. 16, but the results weren’t available by press time. Road games follow on Thursday, Oct. 18 at Grain Valley and Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Grandview, before the regular-season finale and home-finale on Thursday, Oct. 25 against Kearney.
